What my clients say
I can honestly say that this course has changed my life. Mindfulness is not a quick fix and Lucy made that very clear from the beginning. I am not suddenly a brand new person who never worries, never feels sad and sits under a Bodhi tree in a state of Zen all day! But I do feel like I now have the tools I need to manage myself more effectively and for the first time (probably ever) I like myself and I will be forever grateful for taking this time for myself. Thank you Lucy.
This course has helped me in more ways than I ever imagined. It isn’t a quick fix or something that will help you only at this time, if you practice mindfulness regularly it will help for as long as you practice. I can’t imagine my life without it!
This course will improve your life forever. I wish I had done it in my 20’s
Highly recommend Lucy’s mindfulness course. The content is invaluable and you will see results straightaway but you will also leave with the tools to use in everyday life. Join Lucy’s course – you won’t regret it
I have found the course very helpful in stopping me be anxious about many things. The course has helped me be more present in my life and stop stressing about the past and the future.
That this course won’t just help you now but for as long as you practice. Once you start practicing and see the difference you’ll want to keep it up. It’s the best thing I’ve done for me.
I knew nothing about Mindfulness when I started the course but was pleasantly surprised with the way I now approach my daily life. I experience a lot ot pain daily.and instead of getting emotional and angry about it I can accept it more . The pain is still there but is a lot softer now I feel calmer about it. I would thoroughly recommend it to my friends
The course will give you the some really simple tools to help reduce stress levels, enhance relationships and get the most out of life!
Equips you with strategies and tools to relieve stress and think about how you are living in the moment.
Practical helpful practices to make life seem more manageable and positive
Mindfulness is such a wonderful tool to have, it allows you to be present and mindfully respond to situations. It gives you time to think before you react and you won’t believe how powerful that is. Lucy has a gift in the way she trains and within eight weeks you can be actively using the tools
The course was amazing. Totally much more than I have expected. It had a practical toolkit to manage both stress and the wider way of running my thoughts and life. I would be inclined to redo the course even though I have done it already.
I feel far more chilled out, focussed, thoughtful and content. And I feel a sense of inner peace that I haven’t felt for a long time. I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you Lucy for a well put together course and your delivery of it and for being so supportive
Lucy is clearly an expert in the field of mindfulness. I have tried classes with other practitioners, but Lucy’s format really connected with me, with its focus on the science behind the practice and the benefits over time. Lucy’s classes are really well organised and structured, whilst still maintaining an inclusive atmosphere with participants feeling very comfortable to share their experiences. Through Lucy’s class I have realised how much of my life was focused on the future, rather than living in the present and appreciating the small things in life, which ultimately make up the bigger picture. I have recognised my tendency to catastrophise and have developed coping mechanisms to manage this. In addition, the class was good fun – very supportive and full of laughter! I would recommend to anyone
If someone is feeling overwhelmed, stressed and anxious about life, particularly if the root cause is work related, then the MBSR course will provide the foundations to help minimise and manage these feelings from occurring.
I am now able to meditate more regularly and be mindful more often through the day. This keeps me focused on what I am doing and therefore enjoy whatever I am doing. I look at the positives in what I do, this gives me pleasure rather than wish things could be easier or ‘why do I have to do this’. I am hoping that by building a strong base of feeling good and knowing what I do is good, will see me through the difficult times that may come along.
The course is great both in terms of content, pace and also practices. Lucy is very professional and knows her subject/area well. She’s available both before/during/ after the course to guide people and also offers regular practice sessions you can dip into and out of for a very reasonable fee. Doing the course hasn’t led to huge changes in my life yet but I think that reflects my own battle with dedicating regular time to practice in the midst of a global pandemic with children, work and lots going on. However I can say it has made more reflective of how to respond to situations and also how much control I have over these so overall it remains a work in progress but has given some very good tools to start with on this journey and opportunities to practice them. I hope practicing mindfulness becomes something that features regularly in my life and also those close to me as I can see the benefits of regular practice going forwards and Lucy provides a very introduction to this along with support to deepen your awareness and own practice should you chose to. Huge thank you to Lucy for helping me get through the past couple of months and retain some semblance of sanity/calmness.
Before I tried to meditate but it was very difficult to think about nothing. My brain would always wander. Since doing mindfulness with Lucy, I learned not to try so hard to relax, but just to accept the now and just be. That helps me to relax and practice effectively. Thank you, Lucy xx
I had never tried meditation, nor was sure it would be right for me until I met Lucy, and quickly realised through her wonderful guidance, I had found something that, with practice was really fulfilling and life changing.
I have put off a formal meditation practice for many years but always been interested. I decided to give Lucy’s course a go and not looked back. Lucy has really helped how I start my day, no immediate scrolling, but take a few minutes for me to check in with myself. What I love most was learning how to support myself at regular times during the day leading with kindness and compassion.
I thought I’d never be able to sit still for long enough to meditate. Lucy taught me that
1. There is no right or wrong meditation; it’s whatever works for you
2. Meditations can be as simple as 2 minutes sitting looking at a leaf or a stone, or even looking at nothing; they can be as simple as waking the dog and enjoying the early morning dew on the trees.
3. Once learnt, meditation can be used anywhere, anyhow, any time and by anybody.
I am happy to say that Lucy has been instrumental in how I am now able to meditate and allow my mind to close off all other thoughts and concentrate on my deepest feelings to enable me to be calm and focus on what is important at the time. I do this every day and I am much happier and feel more at peace because of it. Thank you so much Lucy. Xx
Lucy helped by giving clear, kind and encouraging guidance on mindfulness practice. This helped build my confidence and the self-belief to do the practice in my own time.
Lucy’s kind, generous professionalism and gentle encouragement has motivated me to practice mindfulness and to persist when my brain disagreed!
Lucy’s style makes the idea of meditation simple; she guides you through in a caring and inclusive manner incorporating meaningful stories that really resonate.I use her method every day and my life has changed most profoundly… I thought meditation was difficult, but not any more.
I thought I’d never “get it” and after quite a long time, I realise I can now stay in the present moment much more. I like the term “friendly curiosity” and don’t beat myself up any more when my mind wanders. Thanks Lucy.
Lucy’s course was brilliant. She taught us all different techniques for meditation. Now I can dip in and out of different types of meditation and I am gradually building up my practice.
The support I got from your group helped me feel that it was ok to let my mind wander. I still find it hard, but your help was so valuable.
I’ve been always struggling with focus. Since I did the Mindfulness Course with Lucy my focus greatly improved, I’m able to meditate for longer time than ever before.
I found it really difficult to meditate on my own or with the CD ( too busy mind jumping) and so felt I wasn’t benefitting… then Kirsty ( from Cherry Lodge) suggested I try the course you were running… I felt the step–by–step structured approach really worked for me and like the practice recordings to try out… I was diligent and treated it like homework and so when the course was over I ensured I’d attend at least one online practice… that way I was forced to do the recordings during the week as the benefit really was in the regular practice … building up the parachute for when I really need it… I’m better at catching myself as a result because I’m more self–aware…thanks…
Pulling my mind back to the present is not easy if it’s all over the place but Lucy has given me the tools to do it.
Wasn’t sure initially that I could meditate but your focussed and calm approach during the sessions reassured me. Your guidance was very well paced and measured especially when we did the body scan.
You helped me understand that minds wander and that is normal. And you help give tools as to how to bring it back.
I concentrate entirely on my breathing . Before I used to hold my breath a great deal now I am conscious of my breath and so I breathe.
I had been trying to meditate for a while but never managed more than 5 minutes. Lucy has been very helpful in teaching me to meditate for half an hour or more. Her drop–in guided meditations are very useful for keeping me on track.
I thought my mind was always too busy, too stressed to meditate “peacefully”. You taught me to be ok with whatever I arrived at practice with, which instantly took off the pressure to meditate in a certain way and be ok with whatever arose. The body scans taught me to realise where I was holding tension and could I do something in life or at the time of practice to elevate the tension or be ok with it. Your meditations, soothing voice, appropriate pauses in breathing practices would lower my heart rate and I feel, supported, safe and always able to discuss anything challenging or uncomfortable. You never push us to discuss our practices with others but sharing the experience will often open up conversations and deepen them. I’ve learned by meditating frequently it is possible to be more present in life, to notice the changes in my body when faced with something challenging, tension in my jaw, stomach etc and to take the time to acknowledge those changes and how best to navigate the situation. Equally to take time to really appreciate joy and happiness and acknowledge those sensations too. The many different practices for example the safe place practices taught me that even in an unfamiliar situation or place I could go to a place of safety for comfort.
The analogies, quotes etc in your teachings all help to remind me of the tools learned to lead a more mindful life.
As someone who has always thought that nothing and no–one can get me out of my own thoughts, I have been surprised that Lucy has shown me that there is a way of thinking and seeing my fears in other ways. EVERY person in the group has told me how pleased they are that they participated.
Lucy helped me to learn how to practice meditating by keeping it simple and that I didn’t have to gear myself up to do a lengthy practice. I could simply do a 10 minute practice before getting out of bed in the morning. During our group sessions her gentle tone of voice helped to guide me plus assuring me it was ok if my mind wandered, which allowed me to grant myself permission to do it my way. Thank you Lucy, long may you continue.
Find your anchor was really helpful. Accepting the fact that our mind will always think and welcoming those thoughts without judgment.
I found your guided meditations ever so helpful as the plentiful prompts made all the difference by keeping me on track in my meditation and helping me to deepen my experience. I also really appreciated your helpful discussions and explanations of why we feel what we do, how we react and the importance of recognising that it is a journey we are on, forever adding to our parachute with regular practice. Miss the course!
